Continuing last week's train...
Among the AUTO-MAX auto carriers on the head end, are these two; one in the older scheme from the first order, and one in the newer scheme from the second order, with the 'star' logo.
As is usually the case, almost all of the AUTO-MAX cars are 'home road'.
Of course, there is always an exception; note the BNSF car. Note also, that all of the cars have been through the "wheel-painting shop"; the trucks have also been weathered for a more realistic appearance.
DBC47 often handles both auto and intermodal traffic between the Midwest and East Coast, and this train is no different, with a sizable string of Schneider National containers following the auto racks.
With an expedited schedule between Chicago and D.C./Baltimore, the train is a favorite of carriers like Schneider, who can move equipment across the country quickly -without paying the premium price for the even faster Gateway Cherokee.More Schneider equipment -and intermodal cars- next week, as we finish the train!
