A NEW LOGO

In addition to a new look on the layout, I am also adding a new look on the AP&W's locomotives and rolling stock; a new logo!

BRIDGE OPTIONS PT3

Continuing construction on the bridge...

Another shot of the hill leading up to the bridge, as DBC-47 rolls past.

As an experiment, I sprayed some Floquil diorama spray, in gravel grey, on the board, and got this effect.

The fact that there is only one side to the bridge, doesn't seem to stop traffic!

The other side is now in place, as can be seen by the traffic heading into town.

This view shows the new deck for inbound traffic. And judging by the amount of traffic, it must be rush hour!

The ends of both decks drop down slightly to meet the hill, which will be widened to match the bridge, and eventually widened more to allow for guardrails and a possible sidewalk. Also seen is the new parking lot for the shop -more on that later!

BRIDGE OPTIONS PT2

Another stack train, BDC47, rolls underneath the bridge as it's location gets finalized.

Another section is added, to help line up with the roadway. Note that the section is reversed; it will be used on the other side of the bridge.

The hill is in place for the transition from flat road to bridge. I used all four sections of  Woodland Scenics 4% incline stacked together, and still it came up a bit short!

Another shot of the work-in-progress. The tree line behind the bridge will stay, as it works to help hide the back of the curve; more scenery will be added at a later date.

The final, proper, span on this side is now in place. Now for the other side!

BRIDGE OPTIONS PT1

As seen in the Christmas issue, there is a new bridge on the layout. Here's how it evolved...

As a test train of passenger cars roll past, I tried out the option of adding another line along the edge. This will become either a CSX interchange or an AP&W spur.

The first mock-up of the bridge. This was an older-style bridge that I had on hand, and it helped me to determine how many sections I needed to purchase.

The first part of the new bridge is in place. The storage building won't stay there; it's currently homeless on the revised layout.

A section of the Armstrong Building has been placed beside the bridge, to help hide the end against the wall/backdrop. Another building will probably be set on the other side, once the bridge is complete.

A double-stack train is the perfect way to test the height of the bridge; if the train fits underneath, then you can run almost anything!

RESTART PT 5; THE CITY RETURNS

After the track is back in place, it's time to put back the city!

The board for downtown is back in place, along with the bank and corner hotel.

Now most of the buildings are back in place downtown.

The strip along Main St. now. The most visible change from before is the elimination of the townhouses and the regular houses. Also, the locations of many of the other buildings have changed as well. This was done to accommodate the new bridge over the tracks. The empty lot on the right has a lot of potential that will be put to use soon!

Downtown returned mostly unchanged from before. I saw no real need to make changes, but, of course, that   may change in the future!
